60 softgels

The Possible Benefits of  Krill Oil
• Helps support heart, brain, skin and joint health
• Helps support healthy cholesterol and blood sugar levels

Krill Oil is a unique EPA-DHA/phospholipid/antioxidant-containing oil extract derived from Antarctic krill, a shrimp-like organism. The health benefits of EPA and DHA are undeniable; these two omega-3 fatty acids are clearly instrumental in heart, brain and joint health. Various clinical studies have shown Krill Oil to be a more effective source of EPA and DHA than conventional fish oils. The phospholipids and antioxidants naturally present in Krill Oil enhance effectiveness and stability, and make Krill Oil much more resistant to rancidity than conventional fish oils.

Krill Oil has demonstrated anti-inflammatory actions, supports healthy cholesterol and blood sugar levels, and contributes to skin and menstrual health. People using Krill Oil for overall health can rest easy that they are consuming an environmentally friendly product - good news given Krill Oil’s role in many aspects of health.

Scientists have investigated Krill Oil’s role in a wide array of conditions. In one study of 70 women, Krill Oil-treated subjects noted a significant reduction in such PMS symptoms as feeling overwhelmed, stressed, irritable and depressed and breast tenderness and joint pain. After taking Krill Oil, subjects also reported an increase of alertness, energy and well-being. Other studies have shown Krill Oil favorably affects cholesterol levels. In a 12-week, double-blind, randomized study of subjects with mildly high to very high blood cholesterol and triglycerides 1 or 1.5 grams of Krill Oil per day caused a 13.4-percent and 13.7-percent reduction in mean total cholesterol. Subjects treated with 2 or 3 grams Krill Oil showed a significant reduction in mean total cholesterol of 18 percent. Levels of LDL, the “bad” cholesterol, also plummeted in the Krill Oil group, while levels of HDL “good” cholesterol rose in subjects taking Krill Oil. Higher doses (2 and 3 grams) resulted in a significant 27 to 28 percent reduction of triglycerides. Subjects in the cholesterol study also experienced a drop in blood glucose levels. Krill Oil also has reduced joint pain and stiffness and lowered levels of the inflammatory marker C-reactive protein in osteoarthritis patients.

Krill Oil is a unique, natural source of omega-3 fatty acids and phospholipids, vitamin A, vitamin E, and astaxanthin. Krill oil comes from krill, tiny shrimp-like crustaceans.

Research indicates Krill Oil may:
• Calm inflammatory pathways
• Promote healthy blood lipids
• Support vital brain function
• Provide premenstrual support
• Nourish skin and body

What makes Krill Oil unique?
Like fish oil, Krill oil contains marine-source omega-3 fats, and it also provides phospholipids and astaxanthin.

Omega-3 fatty acids (e.g. EPA and DHA) are dietary essential fats because they are not made in the human body; they must be consumed from diet or supplements.

EPA and DHA reside in blood and cell membranes. They are precursors for hundreds of metabolic processes, involved in managing and directing beneficial metabolism.

Phospholipids (e.g. phosphatidylcholine) are also a type of fat.

Phospholipids are part of the structural constituents of all cell membranes, supporting proper functionality and communication inside and between cells throughout the body.

Astaxanthin is a carotenoid pigment in krill; a proven, natural antioxidant. Evidence indicates astaxanthin supports healthy liver function and skin.

The phospholipids and omega-3 fats in krill oil promote superior absorption. The naturally occurring vitamins and antioxidants further support stability and utilization*.
