Phase 2® helps reduce the absorption of starch from foods by inhibiting the action of alpha amylase, a starch-specific enzyme produced in the body.* The end result is starch is not broken down into glucose, but is eliminated without being absorbed.* Starch is a carbohydrate found in foods, such as potatoes, pasta, rice and bread. Recent data suggests that Phase 2® may also slow down the rate of sugar absorption into the bloodstream.* Phase 2® is naturally derived from the common white bean and is stimulant-free.
