Oregano Oil contains pure essential oil from the plant Thymus capitatus Hoffm. et Link, and various species of Origanum, containing 65% carvacrol. The oil is prepared by steam distillation without the use of solvents or other chemicals.

The name oregano is derived from a Grecian word meaning "joy of the mountains", and for many centuries the Greeks have used oregano widely in food and as medicine.* Traditionally the volatile oil has been used to support digestion, the respiratory tract, joint function and the urinary system.*

Modern studies suggest that certain essential oils from thyme, oregano and clove may possess properties that affect the balance of microbiology within the gastro-intestinal tract, and potentially support sinus function and the respiratory tract.* The primary active constituents in oregano, thymol and carvacrol, are phenolic compounds which are also found in thyme and appear to work synergistically.* Studies also suggest that rosmarinic acid, an active component in oregano and other herbs, can potentially inhibit the enzyme cyclooxygenase 2 (Cox-2).* Oregano oil also has protective, antioxidant properties.*

Rice Bran Oil 100mg
Other ingredients: Gelatin, glycerin, yellow beeswax, annatto extract, water, zinc oxide.

Suggested Use: As a dietary supplement, 1 or 2 softgels two times daily with meals, or as directed by a healthcare practitioner. May also be used topically by puncturing capsule and squeezing contents out onto skin. Individuals with sensitive skin may want to mix with several drops of olive oil or almond oil before applying to the skin. Irritation may result when applied to the skin full strength.
