Lycopene
Super Antioxidant

The Possible Benefits of Lycopene, a Dietary Supplement
• Play an important role as a quencher of singlet oxygen free radicals

Lycopene is perhaps one of our most important quenchers of singlet oxygen free radicals. Of all serum carotenoids, lycopene is one of the most abundant. It is often found in high concentrations in the prostate gland where it apparently plays a protective role in cellular proliferation. Also, lycopene packs an antioxidant punch at least two to three times more potent than beta carotene. Lycopene, found in tomatoes, guavas, and other red pigmented fruits and vegetables, has stirred much interest in the scientific community for its anticarcinogenic effects.

VRP's 10 mg softgel capsule provides pure lycopene which is crystallized after extraction from a strain of tomatoes selected for their exceptionally high lycopene content. Lycopene is extracted without the use of organic solvents, and the tomatoes are grown in a pesticide-free environment, thus assuring a pure, wholesome product.

This purified lycopene is combined with natural sunflower oil and provided as a 10% lycopene suspension. Take one or two softgels per day with meals. Large doses of any carotenoid may produce a harmless coloring of the skin as these substances accumulate in subcutaneous fat. If this occurs, reduce or temporarily discontinue supplementation.
